Auto Glass and Windshield Service in Stockbridge, MI

Most windshields in this county are lost to a stone, not a collision, and most of those stones were avoidable only by not driving behind a gravel truck on M-52.

Repair the chip if you can

A chip smaller than a quarter, outside the driver's direct line of sight, and not touching the edge of the glass can usually be filled with resin. It stops the crack from running, restores most of the strength, and costs a fraction of replacement. Many policies waive the deductible entirely on a repair, because carriers would much rather pay for that than for glass.

The window for it is short. Temperature swings drive a chip into a crack quickly, and Michigan supplies plenty of those. Once a crack passes a few inches or reaches the edge, repair is off the table.

Replacement done properly

A modern windshield is structural. It contributes to roof crush resistance and it is what the passenger airbag deploys against, so the urethane bond matters as much as the glass. That means correct primer on the pinch weld, the right adhesive, and respecting the safe drive-away time rather than handing back the keys immediately.

If your vehicle has a camera behind the mirror for lane keeping or emergency braking, that camera reads the road through the glass and must be recalibrated after replacement. A shop that skips it leaves you with driver assist systems aiming at the wrong place.

Alongside auto body work

When glass is part of a collision claim, we handle it inside the same repair and the same conversation with your adjuster. One shop, one estimate, one pickup.
