Custom Paint and Pinstriping in Stockbridge, MI

Pinstriping is a hand skill, and there are fewer people doing it every year. A vinyl stripe is a decal with a printed edge. A brushed stripe has a living line, thicker where the brush loaded and tapering where it lifted, and on the right vehicle the difference is the whole point.

What people bring us

Show trucks and street rods, obviously. But also a farm truck someone's father owned, a motorcycle tank, a race car that needs numbers and a sponsor layout, a fleet vehicle whose owner wants something better than a wrap. Two-tones, fades, candy over a metallic base, lettering, scallops, and flames all still get asked for, and we are happy to do any of it.

Starting from a conversation

Custom work goes wrong when nobody agreed on what it would look like. So we start by talking, then sketch or mock up on the vehicle so you can see placement and proportion before there is any commitment. Colors get sprayed on test panels first and looked at outdoors, because a candy that reads beautifully under shop lights can go flat in daylight.

Then we tell you what it costs and how long it will occupy a booth, honestly. Custom paint is slow. Anyone quoting it fast is planning to skip the preparation.

Same standards as the collision side

Whatever goes on top, the foundation is a properly prepared, PPG certified refinish. Metalwork straight, primer blocked flat, clear laid correctly. A stunning graphic over lazy prep is still lazy prep, and it will telegraph within a year.

John and Theresa have been doing this in Stockbridge since well before the auto body shop had a website. Come to 401 N. Clinton with an idea, even a vague one, and we will work out the rest with you.
